According to the international standard for polyethylene water pipes EN 12201, a HDPE material can be certified as PE-100, only if it passes 10 000 hours of continuous hydrostatic test (LTHS), extrapolated to 50 years. This is to show that there is a minimal force (MRS) over 10 MPa for exploitation of at least 50 years.

The polyethylene is a non-toxic and completely inert in contact with water material, while it does not change its smell and taste. In normal working conditions, the polyethylene does not support microbiological growth of algae, bacteria, fungi and mildew and is unaffected by the presence of microbiological agents.

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) does not corrode, does not rot, and does not lose its mechanical properties in electrical or chemical reaction with the soil. It does not accumulate limestone when aging, thereby does not reduce the fluid flow.

Polyethylene 80 and 100 is elastic and extremely resistant to vibrations material. Because of its elasticity, the water pipe route can easily follow the terrain configuration, thereby eliminating the need for too many additional elements.

HDPE water pipes are connected via fittings (for sizes up to 110 mm), butt welding and water-intake clamps.

In addition to their 50-year warranty, HDPE water pipes have other advantages, such as easy transportation, elasticity and flexibility; they do not corrode and are not conductive to deposition of sediments, development of bacterial agents and rust.

All pipes are marked accordingly to comply with national and international standards. Marking is repeated at even intervals and contains data for production date, outside pipe diameter, product standard, producers name and logo, the material from which the pipe is made, standard nominal pressure.
